Thank you for choosing Old Town San Diego State Historic Park as your field trip destination! We have program offerings for all who want to experience the history of Old Town San Diego. Our programs are aligned with California State Standards and are taught by our Interpretive Staff. For any questions about program offerings, please email oldtown.sandiegoshp@parks.ca.gov.

Please note that your online reservation is not confirmed by State Parks until you have a contract and invoice for the program.

Large Group Options:

California Time Travelers Program

Accommodate up to 100 students in a day.
Schedule is 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. & 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. for 100 students.

Explore the Past Tour

Up to 60 participants per tour booking.
You can book multiple tours in one day to accommodate groups larger than 60.

Booking Policy

We ask that you book a minimum of 4 weeks in advance to ensure proper staffing of your program. In situations you cannot meet this requirement, please email oldtown.sandiegoshp@parks.ca.gov.

Self-Guided School Visit

4 hours

Want to visit the park and explore at your own pace? Then register for the self-guided experience! Come anytime during park hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and explore the history of Old Town San Diego with your students. NO guided aspect, docent, or reserved parking for school buses is included in this registration. Parking is limited to 4 hours. The museums that are open vary by day and are subject to change.
